Senator ABETZ (Tasmania—Leader of the Opposition in the Senate) (14:05): Mr President, I ask a further supplementary question. Undoubtedly, broken promises do a lot of credit to this government. I refer to the fact that the Prime Minister's East Timor solution lasted just 43 weeks and her Malaysia solution lasted just 17 weeks. Given this government's record of broken promises, why should the Australian people believe anything the Prime Minister or this government says?
