Senator WILLIAMS (New South Wales—Nationals Whip in the Senate) (14:39): Mr President, in my supplementary question I refer the minister to the Treasury's modelling, which shows that the carbon tax will reduce real wages by one per cent by 2020, or the equivalent of $600 a year, for someone earning around $70,000. Is this the first economic reform in Australia's history that on the government's own modelling is predicted to have a negative impact on Australian working wages?
