Mr RUDD (Griffith—Minister for Foreign Affairs) (15:25): I thank the Deputy Leader of the Opposition for her question. This side of the House stands for putting a price on carbon; those on that side of the House stand for putting their heads in the sand and ignoring their national and global responsibilities. We are about preparing Australia for the future; you are about burying Australia in the past. On the pricing of carbon, we should look to the multiple statements on his commitment to an emissions trading scheme or a tax made at various stages by the Leader of the Opposition. He has had so many positions that he makes the Kama Sutra redundant. On the question raised by the Deputy Leader of the Opposition, multiple jurisdictions around the world have different forms of carbon pricing. She should look at each of those jurisdictions and examine the differences. We are about putting a price on carbon. Get with the international project. Ms Julie Bishop interjecting— The SPEAKER: The remark made by the Deputy Leader of the Opposition was unnecessary.
