Senator PAYNE (New South Wales—Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Women) (14:09): I want to acknowledge those officials who have been working very hard with me behind the scenes to secure the release of these three Australians. The government have been making efforts to ensure they are treated fairly, humanely and in accordance with international norms. We also continue to provide consular assistance to the three Australians' families, with whom we have maintained regular contact. On the basis of ongoing discussions, I continue to believe that the best chance of a successful outcome for these three Australians is with Iran, through diplomatic channels, and not through the media. We will always act in the best interest of the Australians and their families. The PRESIDENT: Senator Fawcett, a final supplementary question?
