Senator MILNE (Tasmania—Leader of the Australian Greens) (23:44): That is an interesting statement, because Mr Jones, the General Secretary of the Uniting Church in Australia Northern Synod, said to the committee: It may be noted that school attendance rates in the Northern Territory have continued to decline overall, and the SEAM trial schools evaluation has also reported failure of the SEAM measure. This negative step will only further alienate parents and decrease the level of support within communities. We request that this aspect be deleted from the SEAM legislation. So I ask the minister: is Mr Jones, the General Secretary of the Uniting Church Northern Synod, wrong when he says that the SEAM trial schools evaluation has also reported failure of the SEAM measure?
