Senator CORMANN (Western Australia—Minister for Finance, Leader of the Government in Senate, Vice-President of the Executive Council and Leader of the Government in the Senate) (14:09): As I said earlier, the only thing that is floundering here in Australia is the shadow Treasurer. We have a floundering shadow Treasurer. All he's interested in is Albo's job. He's not interested in jobs for Australians; he's interested in Albo's job. The next point I would make is that we take our lead from the Australian people. I know that the Australian Labor Party still isn't able to accept the verdict of the Australian people at the last election. The Australian people at the last election knew that we were facing global economic headwinds. They knew that we were dealing with the effects of the drought. They knew that we were dealing with a whole series of challenges. And they knew that it was the worst possible time to opt for Labor's high-taxing, socialist, antibusiness agenda, which would have left every Australian worse off. The Australian people expect us to continue to implement the plan which we put in front of the Australian people at the election, which is precisely what we will continue to do.
