Senator Parry asked the Minister for Human Services, upon notice, on 12 November 2012: With reference to applications for the Low Income Supplement: (1) Why does Centrelink not accept a driver licence, which contains a photograph, as proof of identity? (2) Why does Centrelink require an original birth certificate, which has no photograph, as proof of identity when a driver licence is requested as evidence of identity to obtain the birth certificate.
