Senator TYRRELL (Tasmania—Jacqui Lambie Network Whip) (15:04): Noting that the current Prime Minister has reduced personal staff allocations for crossbenchers, the minister surely agrees that prime ministers historically have not always afforded parliamentarians a reasonable allocation of staff. If that's the case, isn't there a role for an independent body to determine what's reasonable, to make sure it's done at arm's length, transparently and without prejudice?
