Senator Ludwig: The Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations has provided the following answer to the honourable senator's question: DEEWR commissioned the Evaluation of Jobs Fund Projects in December 2011. This evaluation is being conducted by an external consultant (Hugh Watson Consulting Pty Ltd) and is examining completed Jobs Fund projects to identify best practice examples and lessons learned to use in future employment and social inclusion policy development. The evaluation is not measuring the success or failure of individual projects, rather will assess approaches that were successful in meeting objectives. A sample of 23 Jobs Fund projects were selected for the evaluation based on the extent to which the projects had met or exceeded their objectives within the milestones allocated, or where positive outcomes were identified by DEEWR staff. A draft report was submitted by the consultant to DEEWR at the end of March 2012.
