Mr SHORTEN (Maribyrnong—Leader of the Opposition) (14:43): My question is the Prime Minister. I refer to evidence revealed in Senate estimates that the spending on the Prime Minister's official residences will increase by 5.3 per cent to $1.7 million next year. Why is the Prime Minister increasing spending on his official residences while cutting indexation of pensions? Why should pensioners get a lower indexation rate than the Prime Minister's residences? Government members interjecting— The SPEAKER: There will be silence on my right.
