Senator CORMANN (Western Australia—Minister for Finance, Vice-President of the Executive Council and Leader of the Government in the Senate) (14:48): About $10 billion or thereabouts in early release superannuation payments have been released back to the owners of that money—the people saving for their retirement—to help them deal with the challenging financial circumstances they are facing. There has been a comparatively minor incidence of fraud, which has been detected, which has been acted upon, and the interest of those impacted Australians will of course be looked after. Of course, that will be addressed as appropriate. But, let me tell you, this is an important program; it's a popular program. We will continue to take effective action to prevent fraud and, of course, to deal with it if and when it occurs. Anyone who commits fraud will have the book thrown at them. The PRESIDENT: Senator Gallacher, a supplementary question?
