Senator HANSON-YOUNG (South Australia) (12:14): I move: (a) acknowledges that 29 August 2014 is Wear it Purple Day, when we show our support for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) youth; (b) notes that Wear it Purple Day seeks to raise awareness about the issues faced by LGBTI youth and the need to eradicate bullying based on sex, sexuality and gender diversity; and (c) recognises that every young person has the right to be respected and treated equally, regardless of their sexuality or gender identity. Question agreed to.
