Senator BILYK: I move the motion as amended: That the Senate— (a) notes, with concern, the decision of the Russian Parliament to authorise the use of force against Ukraine; (b) supports the United Nations (UN) Secretary‑General’s call for the preservation of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty; (c) urges all parties to exercise restraint, and to seek to resolve the situation peacefully; and (d) calls on the Australian Government to continue to work together with the international community, including as a member of the UN Security Council, to seek a peaceful resolution to the situation in Ukraine through dialogue.
