Senator MILNE (Tasmania—Leader of the Australian Greens) (16:07): I move: That the Senate— (a) notes the Australian Council of Superannuation Investors annual audit that shows just 15.5 per cent of board positions in ASX200 companies are held by women, and That the median company board is made up of 6 men and 1 woman; (b) notes that companies with a greater proportion of women in senior management and board positions are more profitable; and (c) calls on the Government to legislate to ensure ASX200 companies have a minimum of 40 per cent female board directors within the next 5 years.
