Senator WRIGHT (South Australia) (02:31): I move: That the Senate— (a) notes that: (i) in September 2011, the Government released a public discussion paper seeking community views on the consolidation of Commonwealth anti-discrimination laws, and (ii) approximately 270 submissions were received; (b) recognises that the Government has committed to introducing new protections against discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity; and (c) calls on the Government to introduce, as a matter of priority, legislation that ensures Commonwealth anti-discrimination laws are consistent with Australia's international human rights obligations.
