Senator WONG (South Australia—Minister for Finance and Deregulation) (15:00): On 18 June Senator Milne asked me a question in my capacity as Minister representing the Treasurer. I seek leave to incorporate in Hansardsome additional information which the Treasurer has provided. Leave granted: The answer read as follows— Australia has met its responsibilities under the G 20 commitment to rationalise or eliminate inefficient fossil fuel subsidies that encourage wasteful consumption. We took a considered and thorough approach to developing our response and concluded we had no measures within scope of the G 20 commitment. Six other G 20 countries also do not think they have any fossil fuel subsidies that fall in scope. No further work is expected in relation to the commitment by Australia.
