Senator PRATT (Western Australia) (13:39): I move: That the Senate notes: (a) the new guidelines announced by the Government that make it easier for sex and gender diverse people to get a passport in their preferred gender; (b) that this policy will significantly reduce the administrative burden and inconvenience caused to sex and gender diverse people who require a passport that reflects their gender and physical appearance; and (c) that the initiative is in line with the Australian Government's commitment to remove discrimination on the grounds of gender identity and sexual orientation.
