Mr FLETCHER (Bradfield—Manager of Opposition Business) (10:40): I move: That so much of the standing and sessional orders be suspended as would prevent the following motion being moved by the Manager of Opposition Business: That this House condemns the government for its cynical action in unilaterally suspending debate on the New Vehicle Efficiency Standard Bill 2024 and using its numbers to ram this bill through the House, in complete violation of the principles of transparency and accountability which this government promised to bring to the operation of the Parliament. What we have just seen in this House is an outrage in terms of the conduct of the Parliament of Australia and the House of Representatives of Australia.
