Ms BURNEY (Barton—Minister for Indigenous Australians) (15:10): Mr Speaker, I rise to make a personal explanation. The SPEAKER: Do you claim to have been misrepresented? Ms BURNEY: I have been. The SPEAKER: You may proceed. Ms BURNEY: In question time today, the Leader of the Opposition claimed I made the following statement: that the parliament can override the provisions of the Constitution. At no time had I said that. The Leader of the Opposition's statement is untrue, and I suspect he knew that when he was saying it.
