Mr FLETCHER (Bradfield—Minister for Communications, Urban Infrastructure, Cities and the Arts) (12:01): I would like to thank all members who have contributed to the debate on the Appropriation (Coronavirus Response) Bill (No.1) 2021-22 and the Appropriation (Coronavirus Response) Bill (No. 2) 2021-22. These bills seek authority from the parliament for additional appropriations to cover the cash flow requirements for coronavirus response programs through February and March 2022. Because of the significant impact of COVID-19 variants, this early funding is required ahead of the commencement of the routine midyear appropriations, namely Appropriation Bill (No. 3) 2021-2022 and Appropriation Bill (No. 4) 2021-2022. The bills, together, propose appropriations of nearly $5.2 billion for the Department of Health and the National Recovery and Resilience Agency, solely for the purposes of supporting necessary responses to COVID-19 variants. I thank all members for their contribution and I commend these bills to the House. The DEPUTY SPEAKER ( Ms Owens ): I put the question that the amendment be disagreed to. Question agreed to. Original question agreed to. Bill read a second time.
