The position is not vacant for another few months and an announcement of the appointment will be made closer to the time the position needs to be filled. I can report to the people of north-west and Northern Tasmania that consideration is being given to Justice Roberts's replacement. It is well advanced and normal practice will see an appointment made just a few weeks out. This sordid campaign was always about creating fear in vulnerable people.
