Mr CRAIG KELLY (Hughes) (13:59): Two hundred and nineteen years ago, Bass and Flinders were the first Europeans to sail down the Georges River. Since then, we have had an enormous increase in our prosperity, but unfortunately our Georges River has declined. Therefore, last week, I was very pleased to launch the Georges River Combined Councils' Committee's Aboriginal Riverkeepers Team. This is a team that will undertake bush regeneration across the Georges River catchment. It is a $1.78 million scheme funded by the federal government.
