There is the horrific potential that the State of Israel is about to launch an invasion of Lebanon. If this happens, it will be a humanitarian disaster for the people of Lebanon, just as the war in Gaza has been a humanitarian disaster for the people of Gaza. Just as happened last time this parliament voted to give the State of Israel political cover for its invasion of Gaza, the opposition is now seeking the same for the potential invasion of Lebanon. The Australian Greens will not be a party to this. The ACTING DEPUTY PRESIDENT ( Senator Hughes ): The question before the chair is that Senator Birmingham's motion be agreed to. Question agreed to. Senator Wong: Unless Senator Birmingham strongly desires us to continue with question time, I would ask that further questions be placed on notice.
