The whole of the Act The later of: (a) the day after this Act receives the Royal Assent; and (b) if both Houses of the Parliament pass a resolution that the Privacy Act 1988 and this Act provide appropriate privacy protections for the Australian Government Digital ID System—the day after the day the second House passes the resolution. However, the provisions do not commence at all if the event mentioned in paragraph (b) does not occur.
