Senator HANSON-YOUNG (South Australia) (15:51): I seek leave to make a short statement. The PRESIDENT: Leave is granted for one minute. Senator HANSON-YOUNG: The Greens will be supporting this motion. We believe and understand that taking climate action is an urgent priority. It should be an urgent priority for all of us. While this bill is largely symbolic, it now binds the government to a promise that they will get on with it, so we want the bill dealt with. We have worked to strengthen it, so get it done and then get on with the real work. The PRESIDENT: The question is that general business notice of motion No. 1, standing in the name of Senator Gallagher, as moved by Senator Chisholm, be agreed to.
