Senator GALLAGHER (Australian Capital Territory—Manager of Opposition Business in the Senate) (11:52): I seek leave to make a short statement. The PRESIDENT: Leave is granted for one minute. Senator GALLAGHER: Senator Roberts and Senator Hanson have clearly identified the government's failure to deliver affordable gas supply to Australians. Labor has consistently advocated for robust government action to ensure affordable domestic gas supply. Despite its spin, the government has consistently failed to deliver on gas policy, contributing to record prices in recent years. This is typical of the government's chaos and division on energy policy, including 22 policies in just eight years. We won't be supporting this motion today, but the petroleum resource rent tax review made many sensible recommendations and the government should report back on their implementation. The PRESIDENT: The question is that motion No. 1029 be agreed to.
