MOTIONS › Senate Chamber: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flags
Senator RUSTON (South Australia—Minister for Families and Social Services and Manager of Government Business in the Senate) (15:52): I seek leave to make a short statement. The PRESIDENT: Leave is granted for one minute. Senator RUSTON: There are many places and circumstances to appropriately display the flags of our nation, including the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags. The government believes that the Australian national flag, which represents all Australians, is the only appropriate flag to be flown in the Senate chamber.
