Senator DUNIAM (Tasmania—Assistant Minister for Forestry and Fisheries and Assistant Minister for Regional Tourism) (12:20): I seek leave to make a short statement. The PRESIDENT: Leave is granted for one minute. Senator DUNIAM: This government is serious about road safety. In response to the recommendations of the inquiry into the National Road Safety Strategy 2011-2020 the government has established the Office of Road Safety to provide the leadership, coordination and advocacy needed to improve road safety at a national level to reduce the number of deaths and serious injuries on our roads. It has also, amongst other actions, announced a $2.2 billion road safety and upgrade package, provided $18.6 million for key road safety enablers and innovations, and undertaken the review of national road safety governance arrangements. The PRESIDENT: The question is that motion No. 78 be agreed to. The Senate divided. [12:22] (The President—Senator Scott Ryan) The division was unavailable at the time of publishing. Question negatived.
