Senator BILYK (Tasmania) (15:53): I move: That the Senate: (a) notes the resolution of the 70th World Health Assembly on Cancer Prevention and Control in the context of an integrated approach; (b) expresses its support for the resolution and for global co-operative efforts to reduce the incidence and mortality of cancer; and (c) urges the Australian Government to: (i) consider and, where appropriate, implement the actions the resolution calls upon member states to implement, and (ii) where appropriate, support the Director-General of the World Health Organisation in implementing the actions the resolution calls upon him to implement.
