Senator McGRATH: The launch of Australia's first-ever defence exports strategy demonstrates our ambition for Australia as a nation, our Defence Forces, our defence industry and the future of the Australian economy. It is an ambitious, positive plan to boost Australian industry, increase investment and create more jobs for Australians and more opportunities for Australian businesses. The strategic goal is to achieve greater export success to build a stronger, more sustainable and more globally competitive Australian defence industry to support Australia's defence capability needs. All defence exports will continue to be in Australia's broader national interests, including Australia's strategic interest, defence capability, foreign policy and economic policy.
