Senator XENOPHON (South Australia) (16:28): I seek leave to make a short statement. The PRESIDENT: Leave is granted for one minute. Senator XENOPHON: Nothing short of a judicial inquiry will deal with the serious allegations that we've been presented with. None of the inquiries Senator McGrath has referred to will have the weight, gravitas or powers of inquiry to compel or protect witnesses, particularly whistleblowers, and the only way we can resolve this is through a judicial inquiry.
