Senator BRANDIS (Queensland—Attorney-General, Vice-President of the Executive Council and Leader of the Government in the Senate) (14:09): Mr Tavoularis's appointment to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal was extremely well received by the legal profession in Brisbane, to whom he is familiar. The appointment was made through the ordinary processes and was also an appointment made consistently with the protocol agreed to between the government and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. When Mr Tavoularis was approached he agreed to accept the appointment, and the government thanks him for doing so. The PRESIDENT: Senator Wong.
