Senator SIEWERT (Western Australia—Australian Greens Whip) (16:14): I, and also on behalf of Senators Fifield and Polley, move: That the Senate— (a) notes that: (i) September is Dementia Awareness Month, (ii) the theme for 2015 is 'Creating a Dementia Friendly Nation', and (iii) over 342 800 people and their families are living with dementia; and (b) urges the Federal , state, territory and local governments to show leadership in encouraging Australians to become dementia aware, to develop a better understanding of what it is like for a person to live with dementia, and to create communities where people with dementia are supported to live a high quality of life with meaning, purpose and value.
