Senator DI NATALE (Victoria) (15:35): That the Senate— (a) notes recent cuts to jobs at the Australian Animal Health Laboratory of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), which conducts research into infectious diseases such as Avian Influenza, SARS, the Hendra virus and most recently Ebola; and (b) calls on the Government to reverse the $111 million cuts to the CSIRO contained in the budget.
